Inflating: Water blobs can be inflated with both manual and electric air pumps. Yes, the foot and hand pumps are cheaper than their electrical counterparts. However, the time taken with these is significantly high. So, if your blob is big, then electric pumps are a better alternative. Well, you also need to understand the difference between air compressors and electric pumps. Air compressors create too much pressure, which might cause tears in the blob. Electric pumps are ideal. For a smaller blob, manual is cheap and effective.

Deflating: The most important thing to be considered while deflating is to empty the blob completely of air. Any leftover air can create cracks and tears in the blob. Again, you can deflate the blob manually, or with a two-way air pump. A two way air pump is certainly a better option as the time taken is lesser and is more effective. Well, after deflating the blob either manually or with a two-way air pump, it is advisable to remove any air left in pockets manually.
